Roman Reigns: Braun Strowman Doesn't Deserve An Opportunity At The Universal Championship

Roman Reigns is set to defend his Universal Championship on Friday against Braun Strowman.

Strowman took Reigns' place at WrestleMania 36 against Goldberg when Reigns opted out of wrestling during the early days of the pandemic. Strowman would defeat Goldberg to win the Universal Championship, holding the belt through SummerSlam when he lost to 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt. That also marked the night Reigns returned to the company.

"I really want to pump this thing up, but to be honest, I'm not nervous. I've been this, I'm tenured, I've been doing this for so long. I'm on a different level and I've been displaying it week in and week out. Every day is a work day for me. I pack my lunch every single day and that's what I'm trying to teach these guys. To be honest, I don't think Braun Strowman deserves the opportunity. I've beaten him, pinned him, and took the Universal Championship, but because of the competitor I am, the top guy, the face of the company, I'm going to hold my obligation. I'm gonna show up on Friday and whoop his ass," said Reigns on ESPN First Take.

Reigns pinned Strowman at WWE Payback in a triple threat match that also featured Wyatt to win the title.
