Roman Reigns Discusses Creating Hope for Those Who Are Struggling

Instinct Culture by Denise Salcedo had the opportunity to speak with Roman Reigns at WWE's media event for their official unveiling of Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles as the home of WrestleMania 37.

Roman was asked to share his thoughts on the city and called it a "second home." He says that SmackDown's partnership with FOX has him spending a lot of time in L.A. and that the location reveal of next year's event was "really good news."

Commenting on WWE's relationship with FOX, the former Universal Champion had nothing but positive things to say, admitting that it has opened doors for him.

"It’s been awesome you know. I am an ex-football player, I played football since I was 7 years old, to have a door that felt like it got closed on me to all of a sudden be open, to be involved in football, to be hanging out with the Superbowl teams before the Superbowl down there in Miami, interviewing those guys, participating. Just coming off the year that I’ve had, just to be healthy and to be involved is awesome but to be doing it on this level, teamed up with FOX, teaming up with the NFL just living out dream after dream it’s really cool."

Roman, who returned to WWE in February 2019 after four months away battling Leukemia, was asked what it's been like for him to be a hero to those going through similarly tough times, calling it life-changing.

He would continue on to say:

"I felt like I had more purpose, something that would be more fulfilling than just putting a smile on a face. To be able to actually help someone that's in need, someone struggling, to truly impact them not with just creating escapism, but by creating hope.

We're all struggling with something. I think it's okay for us to bond on that struggle. A lot of the time we have this bond through camaraderie, but I think that it's safe to say that it's okay to lend yourself as help, but it's also okay to take help and support each other. That's just what I like to do, to pay it forward and help those just like I needed the help."

Roman can be seen every Friday on WWE SmackDown. It was recently reported that he would be taking part in a #1 Contenders Match at the Elimination Chamber PPV on March 8th.
