Roman Reigns Explains How He ‘Rewired’ Himself For ‘Street Fighter’
Roman Reigns is set to play Akuma in “Street Fighter,” which will premiere in 2026.
Reigns has been filming scenes in recent months, and is no stranger to movie sets, having been in “Hobbs & Shaw,” “The Pickup,” and other films.
Speaking to Pat McAfee on the Pat McAfee Show, Reigns was asked about balancing being on the set of “Street Fighter” and WWE.
“It was so busy going back and forth and trying to get through Paris and get to the point of getting down there. My kids are all in school right now. I didn’t get a chance to tap in with anybody. One thing I did do is when I was on Hobbs & Shaw, I was able to absorb everything and monitor and download as much of the process as possible. That helped me out a lot when I got down there. Also, things that I didn’t like about my experience or my attitude on the last project or two that I’ve done. Different ways to psychologically prepare myself for a different process. That was the biggest thing. I’m so used to my WWE bubble and that process. Being live, jetting in and jetting out, having the bus and my own creative space. I had to rewire myself to be ready for a different process. It was fun and a good time. There was one moment in time where I was like, ‘This is what being a movie star feels like.’ Being in that little bubble was cool. It’s interesting because everything I’ve learned in WWE and all these skills I’ve acquired and sharpened, they all translate,” he said.
Reigns is set to face Bronson Reed at WWE Crown Jewel in an Australian Street Fight.
