Roman Reigns On Not Being Able To See John Cena When Working With Him: It's Better That Way

Roman Reigns and John Cena have had two go-rounds during their respective WWE careers. The first came in 2017 as Roman was just becoming established as "the guy" while Cena was winding down his full-time schedule.

The second came in 2021, just as crowds returned coming out of the pandemic, with Reigns being well-established as the Head of the Table and Cena not having been on television since WrestleMania 36.

Appearing on Impaulsive with Logan Paul, Roman Reigns was asked if it was difficult to work with Cena because you can't see him.

"It's better that way," Roman said with a laugh.

When asked how his relationship is with Cena, Roman replied, "It's okay."

Reigns defeated Cena at WWE SummerSlam 2021, which is Cena's last televised match to date.

Elsewhere during the interview, Paul and Reigns discussed slipping up in promos and blanking. Logan brought up Reigns blanking during a promo segment with Cena in 2017. Reigns attempted to recall the segment and learning from it, saying, "That was one of them. I believe I did, yeah. Just being in that position and going through that experience made me better. I don't think it was anything like John specifically. I take from everybody I've worked with, everyone I've competed with. I always try to take something that I learned from them."

Roman compared taking from other wrestlers to a football coach taking good schemes and concepts from different offenses.

Roman and Cena would clash at No Mercy 2017 with Reigns picking up the win.

Reigns is the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and is coming off a victory over Drew McIntyre at WWE Clash at the Castle.
