Roman Reigns says that he saw "a weight lifted off" The Undertaker during their WrestleMania match.
At Wrestlemania 33, Roman Reigns defeated The Undertaker in what could be the last match of The Undertaker's career. Reigns has also been in matches with future Hall of Famers John Cena, Randy Orton, and Triple H. In an interview with Inside The Ropes, Reigns discussed what it is like to interact with and learn from the best WWE has to offer.
"We have a whole new generation here. We have a young generation of talent coming up. It's going to get to a point one day where a hand full of us can say 'Yeah, I've been in the ring with John Cena. I've been in the ring with Randy Orton. I've been in the ring with The Undertaker, with Shawn Michaels, with Kurt Angle, with Triple H,'" said Reigns. "There's a lot of young guys who are never going to have that experience and never have that opportunity to learn from being out there with guys like that," he continued.
Reigns said guys like The Undertaker are necessary because they are a locker room leader that the other wrestlers can depend on to put professional wrestling first. At Wrestlemania 33, Reigns said he learned about the responsibility of being a leader from The Undertaker.
"Being in the ring with The Undertaker, I was able to feel that respect of the business from him. I was able to feel that responsibility and also see that weight lifted off of him. That was one thing that was neat but it was semi-concerning because the times I've wrestled these legends, these guys who put in all this time, you can see a sense of relief on their faces after the match," said Reigns.
The Undertaker taught him a lot of things according to Reigns. He said he learned in the ring and also outside of the ring. Reigns admitted he hopes one day he could garner the same respect The Undertaker has in the locker room. Also in the interview, Reigns discussed his character and how he feels about The Young Bucks.
