Roman Reigns is hopeful for a return to WWE soon, but protecting his family comes first.
Roman Reigns was supposed to be in the main event of WrestleMania 36 challenging Bill Goldberg for the WWE Universal Championship, but due to everything surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic, Roman pulled out of the match and has not been seen on WWE television ever since.
With no storyline explanation for his television absence and recent edits completely cutting Roman Reigns from moments in history that he's participated in, his WWE future seemed cloudy with many not knowing when they would see him next inside of the squared circle.
Speaking with TMZ Sports, Roman revealed that he's hoping for a return to his ?home? soon enough but says that he is currently protecting his children, including two newborn twin boys that are 8 weeks old. Roman would proclaim his children are his legacy.
?I'm doing good. A lot of people think that it was based off of my health and the history of my fight against leukemia. But, you know, just talking to my doctors and stuff, I actually am fine.?
He continued, ?My immune system is good. The drugs that I take in order to fight the leukemia, they don't attack your immune system. But I did you know, not everybody knew because I try to keep it private in this crazy world... but, my children, we just had two newborn twins, twin boys. They're eight weeks old. So I had to make a decision for them. I love this business. I mean, if anybody ever questions if I love this business, go back about a year and a half ago, I came back as fast as possible. I could?ve took a lot longer off to focus on my health. But they told me, yeah, you should be fine. They get in the ring and do things if you want to get back to normal and I jumped as soon as they gave me the green light. But this is bigger than me. It's my family, it's my children. They are my legacy. No matter what I do in this world, my children are going to be the ones that represent my name and carry our name forward. So I had to make that choice for them to protect them.?
Roman would then talk about wanting to get back to ?normal? before once again reiterating that he's setting an example for the community by staying away from the thing that he loves.
?Nothing like being at a WWE show when the house is packed and the crowd is going nuts. It's unlike anything. There's no comparison because the unison and it's all like a home crowd. I mean, it's not like a split crowd. It doesn't get quiet. But yeah, man, I miss it. I want to be out there. I want to get back to work. I want to get back to normal. But I just feel like I have an obligation to my and my family and myself, but to my community and also to, you know, set the example, because at the end of the day, we can do a lot of different things and say a lot of different things. But it's through our actions that really speak volumes. And that's what I'm trying to do.?
