Roman Reigns: Vince McMahon Told Me To "Be Present" After Leukemia Diagnosis

Roman Reigns reveals what Vince McMahon told him after his leukemia diagnosis.

Former WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns returned to WWE on Feb. 25 after knocking his leukemia into remission. Since that time, he has slowly gotten back into the swing of things, working more matches and live events. Reigns is now back on a full-time schedule and is currently part of WWE's European tour.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Reigns discussed his return to the company and the advice given to him by Vince McMahon while he was away.

“Now that I’m back, I’m enjoying every moment," said Reigns. “That goes back to what Vince McMahon told me. Vince said to me, ‘Be present. Be there with your family and friends, and absorb everything you can. Maximize all that you can.’ After these past few months, I just want to be a part of the process."

During his time away from the company, Roman was able to stay active. He joined The Rock on the set of "Hobbs & Shaw," the upcoming "Fast & Furious" spin-off film.

“Creating with Dwayne, who is starring and producing the film, and going all-in with him felt good on so many levels,” said Reigns. “Hopefully everyone takes to it, enjoys it, and gets lost in it. DJ still lights up when we talk about my career and different bookings. There was a light in his eyes every time he was talking about my future."

Reigns is currently scheduled to face Elias at WWE Money in the Bank on May. 19.
