Rusev is no stranger to having WrestleMania entrances that feature the flag of a nation, as his WrestleMania 31 in dedication to Russia from his heel character is one of the most well known entrances in recent WrestleMania history. At WrestleMania 42, he would this time don the country of his birth, Bulgaria, for his entrance.
While speaking to NYC Demon Diva in a new interview, Rusev spoke about wearing the Bulgarian flag to the ring for his match at WrestleMania 42, sharing that he actually voted in Bulgaria’s parliamentary elections hours before his bout at the event.
“I really didn’t… It was not even a big plan. I put it in my bag. I was like, you know what, I’m going to feel it, and the day, you know, a few hours before WrestleMania, we had a parliamentary elections for Bulgaria. So I had to find a local place, went in, casting my vote right because it’s so important, it’s so important to represent your country your heritage and just to be part of the whole process so thank you, I was really proud of representing my country as always.”
Rusev recently gave his opinion on Je’Von Evans in another recent interview. You can read more about that here.
