Ryback Wins Title In First Post-WWE Match

Ryback Reeves was successful last night in his first match on the independent circuit after leaving WWE, teaming with Pat Buck to win the WrestlePro Tag Titles last night in Cresskill, N.J.

Reeves also is scheduled to wrestle on tonight's WrestlePro event, in Bay Ridge, N.Y. Santino Marella and X-Pac are appearing as well.

WrestlePro posted the entire match on its Facebook page, in which Reeves and Buck took on the New Heavenly Bodies.

A former Intercontinental Champion in WWE, Reeves was released from the promotion in August but he last appeared for WWE on the Payback kickoff show. Ryback was sent home from TV at Raw the next night over what was reported as a contract dispute. Reeves later posted on social media indicating his dissatisfaction with how he was being used by the creative team, as well as critiquing the pay scale in WWE for its talent.

Last month, he successfully changed his legal name to Ryback Alan Reeves.

Since leaving WWE, Reeves has been very open and candid about his issues with WWE and the way the company is managed and how "big guys" are used. Earlier this week, appearing on Busted Open radio, he described his interactions with Vince McMahon and also has gone on record saying that Goldberg, who is making his return to WWE this Monday on Raw, should be drug tested. He also has his own podcast, called "Conversations With The Big Guy."

Reeves also is scheduled to appear at the Heroes & Legends event taking place Oct. 22 in Fort Wayne, Ind.
