Sakura Hirota Entering Politics, Plans To Resume Her Wrestling Career

Hirota is entering the political arena.

For the last 28 years, Shin Sakura Hirota has been a pro wrestler. Over the last several decades, she's competed for multiple promotions in Japan. Since 2010, she's been part of Pro Wrestling WAVE.

She announced that her in-ring career is going to be paused as she is entering politics. As a result, she'll be voluntarily stepping away from WAVE. She does plan on one day resuming her in-ring career but for now, she's focused on her political ventures.

Hirota has been appointed as the official candidate for the Japan Restoration Party and as a branch manager of the Aichi Prefectural Electoral District for the House of Councillors.

This summer, she plans to run in the Aichi Prefecture House of Councillors election.

Hirota was most recently in action on June 1st for WAVE.
