Sami Zayn Apologizes For Referee Mishaps On WWE SmackDown, Promises To Do Better

Sami Zayn lays out an apology.
Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown started in controversy, as Cody Rhodes defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Gunther in a singles bout. Sami Zayn was the special guest referee for the match.
After arguing with Gunther for almost the entire match, Zayn ended up awarding Rhodes the victory with a fast count. This led to a three way title match being announced for Night Of Champions.
Just days later, Zayn took to social media to apologize to Gunther and “Golden Boy” Cody Rhodes.
“I’d like to apologize. I did my best to fairly call the WWE Championship match between my friend, Goldenboy Cody Rhodes & Gunther. What transpired in the end was not reflective of who I am. I know my Ride or Die fans will have my back regardless, but I promise to do better.”
