Sami Zayn Reacts To Undisputed WWE Title Win: “You’re Damn Right I Deserve It!”
Sami Zayn wins his first World Title in WWE.
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, played host to WWE’s 2026 Night of Champions Premium Live Event on 6/27, and the main event featured a Triple Threat during which Cody Rhodes put the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against Sami Zayn and GUNTHER.
The conclusion of the bout saw Rhodes set Zayn up for a Cross Rhodes, but Zayn countered into a pin and got the three-count.
For the first time in his WWE career, Sami Zayn is a World Champion. He was interviewed after his win and said the following:
“Some good, and lately, some bad. A lot of folks said I would never win the WWE Championship. But I stand here tonight, in front of my people… It is hard to believe. Oh my God. I’m not usually at a loss for words but…” The crowd began to chant ‘you deserve it,’ and Zayn responded, “You know what? You’re damn right I deserve it! 20-plus years in the game at the highest level, never got the recognition. 10-plus years chasing this championship, never got the recognition. I don’t care what happens to me tomorrow, next week, next month, next year. Forever, I will be Sami Zayn, WWE Champion.”
On the 6/29 Monday Night Raw, King of the Ring winner Oba Femi will decide if he will challenge Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Title or Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Title at SummerSlam.
