Sami Zayn remembers 2009 European tour.
WWE heads back to Ireland in November and Sami Zayn is looking forward to the return. Zayn wrestled for American Wrestling Rampage -- promotion run by OTT's Joe Cabray -- in 2009 as part of their European Invasion Tour. And even though Zayn has been back to Ireland with WWE, he looks back fondly on the 2009 tour.
"The guys involved were great, and I know a lot of them are still involved with OTT Wrestling in Ireland," Zayn told Irish Mirror. "It was probably one of the best tours I've ever done, it was ten years ago, almost this exact time in 2009 and it's funny because I still talk about it to this day. Whenever I see Scotty 2 Hotty, or [AEW wrestler] Pac whenever I bump into him we all say that it was one of our favourite tours and we had an amazing time. The Irish lads are some of the nicest and easiest to get along with guys and I still have very fond memories of working with them."
It is unknown if Zayn will wrestle as part of WWE's upcoming return to Ireland on Nov. 10. He is currently working as a second for Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura.
