Sami Zayn Talks Possibility Of Competing At Cruiserweight

Sami Zayn has plenty of respect for the WWE cruiserweights, but no longer considers himself one.

Zayn spoke to Raute Musik about his classification, and spoke about how his rivalry with Kevin Owens may have changed perception of him.

"It's a weird dynamic because there are a lot of great guys that I would like to wrestle in the cruiserweight division. Most of my career I came up as a cruiserweight. At this stage of my career -- especially after that rivalry with Kevin Owens -- I'd like to look forward. I know in my heart that I could, and not only that, I should belong at the top of the card," said Zayn.

Zayn also cleared up rumors of his weight as it relates to the division.

"My eyes are focused forwards toward the Universal title and World title and being in the ring with guys like Roman, and Seth, and even Brock, whoever. I'm looking to be as close to the top of the card as possible. And I don't think I actually classify as a cruiserweight anymore because I weigh in at 210 (pounds), 212. I think the cruiserweight cutoff is 205, 200. I don't know. So I don't think I fit right there," Zayn said.

The interesting thing about Zayn's statement is that when the WWE Cruiserweight division was announced, Zayn's WWE.com profile listed him at 205 pounds. Since then, however, the profile has been adjusted back to 212, putting him seven pounds above the cruiserweight limit.
