Sammy Guevara Recalls Telling Vince McMahon, 'I'm Going To Make This Business A Lot Of Money'

Sammy Guevara has never lacked for confidence, even dating back to his time doing extra work for WWE.

Appearing on AEW Unrestricted, Guevara recalled his time doing extra work for WWE and how he was going to let the bosses know just who he was.

PHL Sports Division Director Says Philadelphia Would Love To Host WrestleMania Again, Will Engage With WWE

"I did extra work many times and eventually, I saw, 'This is how they see me.' That's fine, it's up to me to go out and make a bigger name for myself. One of the last times I was there, I was like, 'Screw it, I've done extra work many times, I've got to do something.' I had the idea of going to Vince's office and at least introduce myself because I had been doing extra work for the past two years. I go to the door, I'm about to knock, 'I could just leave,' I knock on the door and hear a loud 'come in.' 'I could still just leave.' Vince is not there. There's some dude on a computer, there's Road Dogg, I'm looking around like 'where is Vince?' Road Dogg is confused. I go, 'My name is Sammy Guevara, I've been here many times, I came to meet the boss man himself,' and do my spiel. Road Dogg gets out of his chair, walks up to me and goes, 'the balls on you, kid. I like your moxie. Vince isn't here today but I strongly recommend you do this the next time you're here,'" recalled Guevara.

The next time he was used as an extra, Sammy took Road Dogg's advice.

"The next time I was there, I do the same thing, and Triple H answers the door. I'm like, 'This is not part of my plan.' I do the same spiel, he opens the door a little to show Vince. He didn't open it for me to come in, just wanted to show Vince. I squeeze myself through the door. I go up to Vince, shake his hand, and do my spiel to both of them and go, 'I want to let you know I'm gonna make this business a lot of money.' Vince chuckles and is like, 'What is your name?' 'Sammy Guevara.' 'Nice to meet you Sammy.' Triple H opens the door, they tell me, 'good to meet you.' I was fully expecting to get kicked out that I already googled movie times for Spider-Man. I went back to the extras locker room, my bags already packed, and I was like 'any minutes, they are gonna come kick me out.' But they never did."

Sammy concluded the story by saying, "Nothing came from it except I ended up getting a tryout later that year. I got the tryout, didn't work out exactly, but when I was at the tryout, I saw a bunch of things where I was like 'this is not where I want to be right now or maybe ever.' If you're a professional wrestler and not a model or football player, it's like 'screw you.'"

Guevara had a WWE tryout in 2017, but wasn't signed. He is now part of AEW and is currently feuding with Matt Hardy.

Elsewhere during the podcast, Guevara discussed the backstage reaction to his AEW return after he was suspended for inappropriate comments made towards Sash Banks. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
