Samoa Joe says he wouldn’t quit in an I Quit Match.
Previously in Joe’s career, he has in fact lost an I Quit match in the past in 2007, where he would say the words during a bout with Kurt Angle. However, the AEW star is claiming that
While speaking to STL Sports Central in an interview ahead of AEW WrestleDream, where he was asked about if he would quit in an I Quit match while discussing Darby Allin and Jon Moxley’s bout at the pay-per-view.
“Potentially, I don’t think I ever would. If I ever have, I probably, you know, it might not even been me that night, AI is crazy these days. Uh, as for these guys, you’re right. It’s going to be tough to get either one of these people to say I quit. It was tough enough learning how to teach them how to say those words in the first place. But I mean, now to get them to actually say that somewhat legibly in a fashion that would actually save themselves? I mean, it’s going to, it’s going to be a rough night for either one of them. I mean, they’re tough dudes, but you know, a lot of that’s just straight up willful stupidity. I mean, those guys, they’ll do anything just to, to, to hurt somebody else, including hurting themselves probably even more. So yeah, uh, some look forward to it, but, uh, yeah, it’s going to be a hell of a show. Let me tell you.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Joe sent a warning to Hangman Adam Page ahead of their bout at AEW WrestleDream. You can read more about that here.
