SANADA Taking Indefinite Leave From NJPW

SANADA is taking an indefinite leave from NJPW.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling issued the following statement:

Thank you for supporting New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Effective January 6, SANADA is on an indefinite leave of absence from competition. No return date is determined at this time.

We apologise to fans looking forward to seeing SANADA wrestle, and appreciate your understanding.

The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion competed at NJPW New Year Dash!! teaming with Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Yujiro Takahashi in a loss to Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) & Oleg Boltin.

The LED screen on his guitar stated, “Goodbye NJPW.” In his post-match interview, he said that he was leaving to go on a trip.
