Sarah Logan And Ruby Riott Discuss Absolution Comparisons, Welcoming Liv Morgan Into Riott Squad

In November 2017, Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan formed the Riott Squad on WWE SmackDown.

Their formation came one night after Paige put together Absolution with Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. From there, the two groups paralleled each other on television.

Appearing on Table Talk, Logan was asked if Absolution took anything away from the Riott Squad since they were formed within 24 hours of each other.

Logan replied, "I don't think it hurt it, but the only frustrating part was we mimicked Absolution for so long. They would do something and we would do something, and we happened to be on Tuesday while they were on Monday. So, everyone knew after Monday what we were doing on Tuesday."

Ruby noted that they were different from Absolution because she felt fans could see the real on-screen bond the three had formed.

Ruby and Sarah had become friends prior to forming the Riott Squad and both wanted to make sure Liv felt welcomed into their friendship.

"There were no concerns on my end but 'is it gonna work or not gonna work' because as pro wrestlers, we make stuff work. I was worried about Liv feeling like not as much part of the group because me and Ruby had so much history and were already friends. Liv can make friends with a broomstick, she's so outgoing. I talked with Ruby to make sure Liv was included and we ended up not having to try hard at all because she just clicked," said Logan.

Ruby added, "That was a moment she worked very hard for and we knew that. Her work ethic was never something we would have to be concerned with because she used to help run and lead our classes because she was that good. We didn't want her to come up after working this hard and feeling awkward in her position. Little did we know, we would all have this deep bond and friendship. It was crazy how easily she just fit. We always said; I was the mom, Sarah was the dad, Liv was our kid."

The Riott Squad remained together until the 2019 Superstar Shake-Up when they were moved to different brands. WWE gave a two-thirds Riott Squad reunion on Raw with Ruby teaming with Liv to defeat The IIconics.

Elsewhere during the interview, Sarah discussed her decision to step away from wrestling and if she'd ever return. You can find her full comments by clicking here.
