Sareee Talks Her 15th Anniversary Match, Sareee-ISM Chapter X, New Theme Song, More | INTERVIEW
An exclusive interview from Scott with "The Sun God"

Sareee will celebrate her 15th Anniversary as a pro wrestler this Sunday at Sareee-ISM Chapter X inside the Yokohama Budokan.
The celebration has been built with months of work by Sareee — highlighting the past, present, and future of Joshi wrestling as well as so many different chapters from her own career. Whether it’s the main event itself, when she will team with her SPARK RUSH partner to take on two of her greatest rivals, or seeing her mentor Kaoru Ito and best friend Natsupoi collide, this is an event that celebrates every part of Sareee.
The road for Sareee to her 15th Anniversary has been a special one. From rising to glory in her early days, to taking a chance on herself in WWE, to then returning to Japan and setting the world ablaze as one of the best wrestlers on the planet — it’s all made her who she is today.
All of this hard work will be celebrated, and she will also introduce her new theme song on the same night, which was written by herself and Hitomi Shimatani, who’ll perform at the event, too. It’s all making for a very special night, and should be a show everyone has on their schedules as it celebrates Sareee, her career, and Joshi.
Before the official event, which you’ll be able to watch LIVE on PPV via Sareee Live, Sareee had the chance to give a short exclusive interview with Scott regarding the event, the main event, her new theme song, and why fans should tune in.
Here’s what Sareee had to say!
Edwards: This Sunday will be your 15th Anniversary event at the Yokohama Budokan. You’ve put so much work into making this show a reality, and now it’s almost here. How are you feeling ahead of the big show?
Sareee: “I’m looking forward to the event. Doing a big event is a big challenge for me. But a person only gets better by challenging things. Fail or succeed, it makes you challenge yourself, and I feel that can only make you a better pro wrestler and better promoter.
“But of course I want to succeed and have the customers who came and customers who watched all satisfied. Half of my life has been in pro wrestling, 15 years — I’m turning 30 years old soon. I wanted to give something back to the industry as well. Every participant and each match has a special meaning to me. People who helped me along the journey, my friends, my rivals, and the future hope of the next generation. Its my Chronicle. Past, present, and future. I wanted to showcase this. Also wanted to extend my appreciation to the fans and thank you for all of their support. I wouldn’t have made it this far without them.”
Edwards: The main event of Sareee-ISM Chapter X will see you team with your SPARK RUSH partner, Takumi Iroha, to take on two of your top rivals — Takumi Iroha and Chihiro Hashimoto. It’s an incredibly fitting main event to celebrate your anniversary, but it also presents you face-to-face with your two most recent big losses at the end of 2025. Why was this the match you felt best fit for your 15th Anniversary match?
Sareee: “I had many options thinking about the main event of my 15th anniversary. Going around many times in my head in loops. Maybe it should be a wrestler of the moment right now. Maybe this wrestler or that wrestler.
But conclusion-wise, I ended up wanting to show what I believed in and my style of pro wrestling the most. The fighting style of pro wrestling. Then these participants came to my mind. The best out of the best, and who I thought is the toughest out of the toughest, who can say we represent Joshi pro wrestling. All of them are my ultimate rivals. I did lose against Syuri for the IWGP and Hashimoto at her 10-year anniversary event last year. Iroha is also my rival, but at the same time, my current tag partner. We won the (AAAW) belts last year but lost it. But I didn’t feel like ending it this way. Wanted to try again as SPARK RUSH also. Want to show more of what we can do. Because this isn’t it. I think we can show more. With the four of the best together, it will be one great match for sure.”
Edwards: In a special press conference, it was announced that you worked with Hitomi Shimatani to create a new song that you will use moving forward following your 15th Anniversary. Shimtatni will also perform at the event! You were able to work with her on the new song, helping create the lyrics, and even created a music video. Why do you feel now is the right time to make the change? How meaningful was it to you to create this new song, with your own words and thoughts, and to have it follow you moving forward in your career? What should fans know about the song before it officially debuts?
Sareee: “After I returned to Japan, I had the chance to meet with Shimatani-san for the first time over a meal. During the meal, this came up about the entrance music. Fast forward, I wanted to do it, but it had to be at the right time. I thought this was the perfect timing. Big event, my anniversary, and I wanted to make it a special time for all of us. She offered me to sing too, but I can’t sing well (LOL). So, I participated in the lyrics part. I think this song represents the now to the future. Once people hear the whole lyrics, I think they will understand more. The message, after my 15th year anniversary representing me. I know that the fans loved my entrance music, Taiyo-shin. But I think they will also like Taiyo-Shin Prism after they hear it.”
Edwards: The card for Sareee-ISM Chapter X embodies the idea of Sareee-ISM to the fullest extent. The main event, it celebrates your history, story, rivals, and more. Through matches like Chi Chi & Miku Kanae vs. Rina & Amu Fujiwara, it showcases the future to fans. It also sees a match like Natsupoi vs. Kaoru Ito — which pits two incredibly important people in your career against each other. Or Senka Akatsuki and Fuwa-chan leading matches with legends at their side. Overall, the show feels like a perfect telling of Sareee, Sareee-ISM, and highlights the past, present, and future. Can you tell us about what went through your mind when crafting this card? And do you feel it represents everything you had hoped for when you announced this show?
Sareee: “Yes, each participant has something related to my past, present, and future of me. Chronically. Friends, rivals, seniors, and newcomers. All is part of what created me. Now I am in the status of not just about myself but returning something back to the industry and building the future. Also, appreciation to the people who brought me here, and to the fans. This event is all about that, which is why it’s Sareee-ISM Chapter X & Sareee Chronicle and appreciation to the fans.”
Edwards: Fans will have the chance to watch your 15th Anniversary show worldwide this upcoming Sunday via PPV. Is there anything you’d like to tell fans who are planning to tune in to watch the show, and what they should expect?
Sareee: “I put in every effort to make the event as exciting as possible to the fullest extent of what can be done. I hope you can enjoy the event and the excitement of this event. Also, being my 15th year anniversary, I would like to try new things. I hope that I can go more internationally as well and visit the fans in person. Thank you to all the fans for your support. Good times and bad times, I wouldn’t have made it this far without you. I will try my best to continue to have exciting matches. Thank you.”
We’d like to thank Sareee for giving us some of her time right before her big show to answer these questions! It’s an honor to continue working with her, especially as she celebrates such a special milestone in her career.
