Saya Kamitani Def. AZM To Capture NJPW STRONG Women’s Title, Retains World Of Stardom Title

Kamitani obtains a new belt.

Headlining STARDOM’s September 27th event at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan was a double title match that saw World of Stardom Champion Saya Kamitani versus NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion AZM.

The conclusion of the bout saw Kamitani pinning AZM to retain her title and winning the STRONG Women’s Title. AZM had been in possession of the belt since May, when she won it at NJPW Resurgence. Not counting the match against Kamitani, AZM had only defended the belt once.

Kamitani now adds on the STRONG Women’s Title to her 270-plus day reign as World of Stardom Champion.

After Kamitani’s victory, she was approached by Momo Watanabe. Watanabe is scheduled to challenge for both belts at STARDOM’s November 3rd show.
