Scott Dawson Says The Fan Reaction During He And Dash Wilder's Main Roster Debut Boosted Their Egos

The Revival reflect on their main roster run thus far in WWE.

Kicking off the two years that Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder who make up The Revival have been on WWE's main roster, they came onto the Monday Night RAW scene with the fan fare on their side fresh out of NXT and both men were immediately hit with injuries that came after they strung together a few victories. The Revival captured the RAW Tag Team Championships this past February and held onto the titles until WrestleMania 35 where they lost the straps to the current champions Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins.

The Revival are now feuding with The Usos as Jimmy and Jey are toying with the "Top Guys" on screen. Scott Dawson admitted during an interview with Sun Sport that things have not gone according to plan for he and Wilder on the main roster and Wilder followed up by stating that all they can do is dust themselves off and continue pushing forward.

"The experience in WWE has been exactly what you’ve watched – it’s been up and down. Going into our main roster debut we were on a personal and creative high. But we had some unfortunate incidents – life happens. It’s what happens in this and any sport. When we came in and beat The New Day, with that kind of reaction, maybe that boosted our ego a little too much." Dawson reflected. "It was like someone said, ‘Settle down, let’s put that chip back on your shoulder.’"

“The momentum we had in NXT from 2016 to 2017 was unreal but then the back-to-back injuries really slowed things down. But you can’t dwell on things too long. We had to dust ourselves off.” Wilder said.

It was reported by Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp that The Revival were offered $500,000 per year deals from WWE but have not accepted the offer. Wilder and Dawson are set on proving that they are one of the best tag teams in WWE and Dawson feels that what they do every week can be defined as good wrestling.

"There’s good wrestling and there’s bad wrestling. What we do every night of the week is good wrestling – great wrestling if you ask me. Every night I lace up my boots up and I every night I take a breath and say, ‘It’s going to be a good match'. With as much humility as I can muster up, there aren’t too many people who are as good as we are.” Dawson said.
