Seamstress Sandra Gray made gear for WWE and WCW stars in the 90s including Johnny B Badd (Marc Mero), Scott Hall, Diamond Dallas Page, and more.
It wasn't until Miss Elizabeth and Lex Luger vouched for her to go on the road with them that she became a contracted employee.
"The first time going on the road happened because of Miss Elizabeth and Lex Luger, because I made gear for them as well. At that time, WCW and WWE were competitive with each other. I can talk to anybody I want, I'm a free agent. I start talking to people over [at WWE] as well. When Miss Elizabeth and Lex found out about this, because it was getting serious and I was going a lot for them, they went to the office and spoke on my behalf, 'You have to give her a contract.' Back then, we weren't really allowed to sew for the other team if you're on this team. They said, 'If you don't give her a contract now, and they offer her one first and she takes it, she won't be sewing for us anymore.' I believe they did that and the next one or two days, I was in the office talking to the lawyer and we were discussing my contract. I left there with a contract, an airline ticket, and all of my arrangements of who to talk to go on my first road trip," Sandra recalled to Conrad Thompson on The Insiders.
Elsewhere during the interview, Sandra revealed she has plans to work on a book featuring her designs. Fans can learn more by clicking here.
