Sean Waltman Open To Coaching At NXT Again, Still Plans On Having A Few More Matches

Sean Waltman still sees wrestling in his future.

Feeling better after his knee surgery in January, Waltman wants to get back in the ring for a few more matches. He's previously stated that he would like his comeback to be in WWE, but that he knows there are other options out there if they aren't interested.

While he was unable to wrestle, Waltman would make frequent visits to the WWE Performance Center and work with the talent at NXT. Though that's slowed due to the pandemic, Waltman remains open to coaching at the WWE PC once again.

"Well, before the pandemic started, I was going down about once every month for a week, for a week or two each month, and I was helping coach down there and I loved it. I really loved it. You know, just, you know, obviously, things happen and that has it hasn’t been happening. I’m open to doing it again. I’m really busy and, you know, and that. But it’s something I really love doing. And, you know, as far as getting back in the ring, you know, I’m going to have a few more matches. I don’t know if it’s going to be there. I don’t know where it’s going to be. Maybe I’ll promote them myself. Yeah. You know, but yeah. No, NXT I just I’m one of their biggest fans," Waltman told Kenny McIntosh of Inside The Ropes.

In an exchange with Santos Escobar in April, Waltman said he wasn't cleared yet, but was open to having a match with Escobar once he got the final word on his knee. You can view their exchange by clicking here.
