I can say wholeheartedly that I wish CM Punk nothing but the best of success. His winning helps everyone in the company win from opener to main event and to all the kids growing up with dreams of wrestling superstardom. The more successes in wrestling today that tick the needle higher and higher ensures that there are more opportunities for successes in the future, securing said opportunities for childhood dreams to be fully realized. In a business that's built on the backs of childhood dreams, this potential success is something we should all get behind for the good and moreover the betterment of the industry as a whole.

And while I cannot attest to recent events, over the years, I have crossed paths with CM Punk on multiple occasions and never once had a bad interaction with him. Nor a bad word from him. When I asked for feedback on a match of mine at OVW, he personally watched it and gave me specific feedback that was both articulate and purposeful. I'd later use that feedback to create the character I'd developed and brought to WWE & ROH. He made a difference in my approach to character development that changed my trajectory in a positive way.

When I was 22, I was grossly, severely injured in a match by a veteran. A match that saw me concussed, suffered three herniated discs in my neck, blunt force trauma to my brain, and perhaps even worse yet twice temporarily paralyzed from the waist down. These injuries could have and probably should have ended my career. Or even worse - killed me just as my career was gaining steam. Mere months before my TNA Gutcheck. Punk who was back stage with Jerry Lynn checked on me immediately and then both had words with that vet on my behalf. No one else stepped in to my defense except CM Punk & Jerry Lynn. Advice they both gave me after that I used with every match thereafter. For their kindness, concern, and respect shown to me, I will always show it back in kind.

To this day, I still to deal the ensuing effects of that injury from the egregious abuse that unfolded in that match. Both Punk and Lynn were instrumental in showing me how veterans in this business could and should be. Over the years I never forgot that experience and I will always pay that forward in gratitude. So say what you will, as is your right, I however, hope for the best for WWE and CM Punk with respect for the industry that I've given almost twenty years of my life to...

So whether you hate to love him, or love to hate him, CM Punk's return to the WWE signals an irrevocable turning point for both WWE and Punk. An opportunity to once and for all expel any doubt that Punk is a superstar unto himself no matter where he goes creating an indelible mark in the annals of wrestling.
