Seth Rollins Believes It's Tougher To Break Into The Business Nowadays

Seth Rollins on why he thinks it's harder to get into the business in 2019.

As a multi-time WWE Universal Champion and one of the top stars in the last five years, Seth Rollins has emerged as one of the faces of WWE. Rollins made his professional debut in 2005, joined FCW in 2010, and spent two years in FCW/NXT before being called up to the main roster in 2012. Nearly 15 years after his debut, Rollins believes it's much tougher to get into the business now than it was in 2005.

Bun B To Appear At TNA iMPACT! Tapings On April 21

"Everything has gone by the wayside. The pace in which the business has progressed is crazy. It reminds me of the technological revolution. What a phone is now compared to 15 years ago. If you look at the business now compared to 15 years ago, it's crazy," Rollins told 103.5 KissFM. "The finisher thing, is just a microcosm of the growth of the industry and change in it. I'm glad I got in when I did. If I was a young guy trying to get in now, I look at the landscape -- I have a wrestling school back home and I teach these kids and I'm like, 'I can only do so much for you because I don't know what it's like to break into the business these days.' It seems so much more difficult than when I got in. There are tons of opportunities, but everybody is so talented, athletically gifted. When I broke in, in 2005, I was one of the more athletic guys of the bunch. Now, everybody is Ricochet. How do you stand out? With social media and GIF wrestling world we live in, I don't know. It's daunting."

Rollins has used social media to his advantage recently, trying to stir up interest in a potential match with CM Punk. However, Punk has largely dismissed Rollins' interest in a match, saying he is not actively pursuing an in-ring return.
