Seth Rollins: It Is Bittersweet That I’m Not The One Taking The World Heavyweight Title Into The Main Event Of WrestleMania

Seth Rollins feels it’s bittersweet that he’s not going to headline WrestleMania 42 as the World Heavyweight Champion.
In April 2023, WWE introduced its new World Heavyweight Championship. Seth Rollins became the inaugural champion and went on to have a 316-day title reign. He was in his second reign with the title when he got injured at Crown Jewel 2025.
Later, CM Punk won the World Heavyweight Title at Saturday Night’s Main Event. He’s currently scheduled to defend the title against Roman Reigns in a WrestleMania main event next month.
Speaking with the Boston Herald recently, Rollins said it’s bittersweet that he’s not the one headlining WrestleMania with the title belt.
“It is bittersweet that I’m not the one taking it into the main event of WrestleMania. It’s actually my most-hated rival, CM Punk, against Roman Reigns. The irony is not lost on me.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Rollins said he’s “extremely proud” of the fact that the World Heavyweight Championship is likely headlining Night 2 of WrestleMania 42. Fans can read his comments here.
