WWE SmackDown

The Elite: We're Getting AEW Back To What It Was Supposed To Be

- Roman Reigns and The Bloodline kicked off SmackDown. They, however, were interrupted by Brock Lesnar. The Beast, who returned to WWE at SummerSlam, asked Paul Heyman why he didn't tell Roman that he'd be there that night. Roman and The Usos left Heyman in the ring with Brock, who demanded a Universal Title shot. When Heyman didn't comply, Roman, Jimmy, and Jey came to his aid, but Brock was able to fight them off and stand tall to end the segment.

- During the opening segment, WWE/Fox muted the audience's "you fucked up" chants at Paul Heyman.

- Sami Zayn brought out the Atlanta Hawks' Trae Young to be in his corner during a 10-Man Tag Team Match. Unfortunately for Sami, not only did Trae get tossed from ringside, but Big E, The Mysterios, King Nakamura, and Rick Boogs defeated him, Apollo Crews, Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode, and Otis.

- Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair had a contract signing, making their SmackDown Women's Championship Match at Extreme Rules official.

- After a series of kicks to Edge's head, Seth Rollins delivered a stomp to win his match against The Rated-R Superstar. Edge was taken out in a stretcher. After the match, Rollins was near speechless about what he had just done.

- Roman Reigns forced a disqualification finish in the Usos and Street Profits Tag Team Title Match. He proceeded to grab a mic and tell Brock Lesnar that he would smash him after he finished smashing FInn Balor. The lights then went out and a pulsing red light began filling Madison Square Garden. From the smoke-filled stage emerged for the first time since 2019 The Demon Finn Balor. WWE would soon after confirm that Reigns and The Demon will face off at Extreme Rules on September 26.

AEW Dynamite

- Chavo Guerrero got involved and helped Andrade El Idolo score a victory over PAC on AEW Rampage. After the bout, Andrade attacked Chavo before feeding him to the Lucha Brothers.

- Sting and Darby Allin called out Tully Blanchard and Shawn Spears, but it was The Pinnacle members who would get the last laugh after Spears successfully sneak attacked Darby and hit him with a death valley driver on the floor. They will face off in the ring next Wednesday on Dynamite.

- Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson gave exclusive interviews on Rampage. Cole argued that he hasn't even entered his prime yet and would wipe the floor with Bryan Danielson. Bryan, on the other hand, said he thinks The Elite are insecure and hopes Kenny Omega is his first fight. That said, he is willing to face anyone.

- Ruby Soho, Riho, and Kris Statlander defeated Dr. Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, and Rebel in a trios match.

- Brian Pillman Jr. defeated Max Caster in the main event of Rampage. The Varsity Blond was attacked by Caster and Anthony Bowens after the bell, but he was saved by fellow Cincinnati native, Jon Moxley.
