Terry Funk gave Shark Boy some advice.

Shark Boy would make his debut in pro wrestling in the late 90’s, additionally trademarking the name and using the gimmick for close to 25 years. Now, he has shared how Terry Funk offered him an alternative name for the former TNA name.

While speaking to RJ City in a new interview on Hey! (EW), he  shared that Terry Funk offered him some advice on his name.

“That’s a good question. You know who told me one time I should change my name was Terry Funk. He said, you need to go from being Shark Boy to Shark Man. (You said no to Terry Funk?) I did. I had to because I said, Terry, I only own the trademark for Shark Boy. It’d be a whole process.”

Shark Boy would recently help advertise Shark Week prior to this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite. You can read more about that here.
