Shawn Michaels: Ethan Page And Chelsea Green Are Two Of The Most Enjoyable People I Watch On TV

Shawn Michaels has high praise for some of NXT’s top entertainers.

Shawn Michaels has always had a love-hate relationship with Canada; he put Bret Hart in the Sharpshooter at WWE Survivor Series 1997, setting off the Montreal Screwjob. This made him a pariah in Canada for years.

Now, in NXT, Shawn Michaels is overseeing the latest WWE chapter of the US vs. Canada. Ethan Page and Chelsea Green in NXT represent the Canadian Standard of Excellence. Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, HBK joked that he finds himself rooting for the Canadians oddly.

“Canada versus America, that is old-school for me,” said Michaels. “I love Tavion Heights and Tyra Mae Steele. Those are two bona fide Olympics medalists. As bad as I feel saying this, I happen to love the two Canadian people in the match.

“I kind of feel bad that there’s a part of me pulling for the Canadians, and I don’t think I’ve ever done that in my entire life.”

He also praised the entertaining skills of Green and Page, calling Green a fantastic and hard worker.

“Ethan Page and Chelsea Green, to me, are two of the most enjoyable people that I watch on television,” said Michaels. “Whether Chelsea’s on a main roster show or she’s on ours, I just get a kick out of her. She’s fantastic and a hard worker. With Ethan Page, it’s the same thing.”
