Shawn Michaels: I’m Worried About Hollywood Calling Tony D’Angelo To Play A Mob Boss

Shawn Michaels thinks Tony D'Angelo has done a fantastic job of portraying "The Don" in NXT.

Tony D'Angelo burst onto the scene with the WWE NXT 2.0 rebranding in 2021. Almost immediately, D'Angelo became one of the cornerstone characters of the new era of WWE NXT. Since then, he has only grown in status and the family that he heads on NXT TV has also grown in size.

Shawn Michaels, the man currently responsible for WWE NXT's booking, praised Tony D'Angelo's dedication to his character during a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio. HBK even joked that he's concerned Hollywood might come calling for Tony to portray a mobster on the big screen.

"Tony is somebody that, from the beginning, he jumped in 110% into that character and has done a fantastic job. I’ve got to be honest, things that worry me about Tony D’Angelo is somebody from Hollywood giving him a call and losing him to play the next mob boss because he does such a fantastic job," said Michaels.

Tony D'Angelo is on the precipice of his greatest opportunity yet in WWE NXT. At WWE NXT Stand & Deliver, D'Angelo will challenge Ilja Dragunov for the WWE NXT Championship.

However, that match will not headline the card. That honor will go to the grudge match between Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams. Learn more about that at this link.
