Shawn Michaels Jokes About Facing Creative Issues Due To Backstage Drama In NXT

Shawn Michaels tries to stay away from the gossip in NXT.

For years now, Michaels has been responsible for training and preparing the next generation of superstars for WWE.

As it turns out, ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ has ran into some problems when it comes to keeping up with the changing nature of relationships and friendships in NXT.

“I’ll say this, back what [Undertaker] used to do in the locker room — that’s [to] not get too caught up in a bunch of the stuff and just go out there and handle business. Believe it or not, that’s certainly what I, you know, I hear it all. I’ll chuckle and I’ll hear about, so and so, you hear that they’re dating, they broke up. You’ve got to try and not pay attention to all that like, okay, what’s the show, how are they doing? How’s the talent on LFG doing? How are these people developing? What have we got for Evolve? There’s plenty of stuff that I have to focus on that thankfully keeps me out of the [gossip]. Those are just things that happen in passing. I can suggest something from a creative standpoint, well so and so — don’t do that. Why not? They were dating and they had a fight. Like, I had no idea they were dating. Alright, so does that mean they can’t do this on TV? So that’s how it comes up.” Michaels told The Undertaker and Michelle McCool on the latest episode of Six Feet Under.
