Shawn Michaels: Scott Hall And Kevin Nash Epitomized Being Cool

Shawn Michaels still thinks Scott Hall and Kevin Nash are two of the coolest dudes to ever exist in wrestling.

Shawn Michaels, Sean Waltman, Triple H, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash were always very close when they worked together in WWE. Their friend group became known as The Kliq, and for all the fabled stories of the hell they would raise, they were also five of the top stars during the 1990s. Shawn Michaels and Triple H now run the creative side of WWE.

The genesis of that group was the relationship that Shawn Michaels began forming with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash as they began a rivalry in 1993. Hall and Nash would become synonymous with one another after defecting to WCW from WWE in 1996, becoming two of the founding fathers of the New World Order, along with Hulk Hogan.

Over 30 years after their friendship formed, Shawn Michaels still praises Hall and Nash as the very epitome of cool, just as he told Justin Barrasso of the Boston Herald in a recent interview.

“I can describe Kevin and Scott in one word: cool,” said Michaels. “I had to try very hard and even overcompensate, but they epitomized what it meant to be cool. Even if it doesn’t show now, I was a beautiful young man – but I didn’t have any of that real deep coolness. Whether you saw them on television or backstage, Scott and Kevin had it all the time. They had this bona fide cool bravado – and humor, too. They were so perfect and natural together, and they were able to impress that upon that viewer.”

Sadly, Scott Hall passed in 2022. Kevin Nash remains active in the wrestling world through his podcast, Kliq This.
