Shawne Merriman: TNA Is The Hottest Wrestling Company Out Right Now, Their Growth And Popularity Is Unmatched

Shawne Merriman has some big stuff lined up with TNA Wrestling.

Merriman made some noise back at the TNA Rebellion event in 2024, taking out Joe Hendry during his match with Rich Swann. The moment went viral on social media, garnering a ton of buzz from some NFL fans as well.

Speaking with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful for a new interview, the former All-Pro talked about his love for wrestling and being involved in the community over the years.

“You’re talking about passions of mine, man. I think that whenever you’re involved in something you got to be a fan of it first. For one to all the audience and fans know that if you’re not passionate about what you’re doing, like I’ve wrestlers been in my blood for forever, and this all started [with] me doing a pay-per-view for WWE back in San Diego in the mid to late 2000s and from that point on it’s you know was talking to Paul—Triple H—and talking to a lot of the wrestling community. Actually, Nick Khan was at CAA when I was there, who’s running WWE now. Then to get an opportunity to work with TNA. TNA right now is the hottest wrestling company out, period.”

Merriman went on to praise TNA, saying that they’re the hottest wrestling company in the world.

“Carlos and everyone over in TNA know how I feel about TNA. I think that TNA is the hottest wrestling company out right now, period. You can say WWE, but I’m talking about as far as the growth of TNA and where they’re gonna continue to go and who knows? I got stuff planned with them, a couple times a year and you’ll probably see me back in the booth. But what TNA has done as of late in their growth and popularity is just unmatched.”
