Shayna Baszler has responded to fans who have accused Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano’s fight of being worked this past weekend.
This past Saturday, Ronda Rousey would fight Gina Carano, with both women coming out of retirement to participate in the bout with MVP promotions. The bout would end up being a short one, reminiscent of Rousey’s UFC career where she would routinely finish opponents inside of a minute with a takedown followed by her signature armbar. Due to Rousey defeating Carano in around fifteen seconds, fans would make the claim that the fight was staged.
In a new social media post on Sunday, Shayna Baszler, who is close friends with Ronda, clapped back at those claiming that the fight between Carano and Rousey was worked, noting Rousey’s record of finishing opponents in quick time.
“If you want to know how fast the memory of MMA fans gets erased, 17 seconds isn’t even her fastest win and people think it was worked, lol. What about her :14 win over Zigano? Or her :16 win over Davis? Or her other 5 wins under :30? Or her 9 total wins under a minute?”
