Speaking on the RRBG podcast, Baszler was asked how the appearance came together.

"It's pretty cool. If I'm being honest, I thought that by the time I had the availability to do this that there would be too many miles on my body and I would be done doing this. It's pretty cool that it worked out this way. On my end of the discussion, all the talking was already done. I got pulled into the office at work, it was William Regal and he was like, 'Hey, what do you think about working Bloodsport?' 'Is everything...am I cool? What are you trying to say to me?' 'Yeah, we've been talking to Josh. There are only so many athletes we have that we feel confident can wrestle that style, and you're one of them. Are you interested?' 'Absolutely, yes, 100%.' As far as my end, the talking was done, it was just, 'Do you want to do this?' Completely surprised. Insane that I was literally at work for Raw, my phone was in the locker room, got called into the office, that discussion happened, work it out in the ring, and on my phone I had a missed call and text from Josh, 'Text me back, it's urgent.' I knew by the time I got back what it was. He tried to reach me before them. It was a surprise, but a thoroughly enjoyable one," she said.

Baszler will face Masha Slamovich at Josh Barnett's Bloodsport X.
