Shinsuke Nakamura Says Brock Lesnar Was Unprofessional In 2006, Would Want A Rematch

In 2006, Shinsuke Nakamura battled Brock Lesnar in what would be considered a dream match today.

The match was part of Lesnar's infamous NJPW run, which ended with Lesnar defeating Nakamura for the IWGP Heavyweight Title and then not returning to NJPW over "visa issues," but dropping the title to Kurt Angle at the Inoki Genome Federation debut show in 2007.

Speaking to Renee Paquette on Oral Sessions, Nakamura was asked if he would like to face Lesnar again.

"If I have the opportunity, of course I want. I was young, he was young, I don't know," he said.

Nakamura would also call Lesnar "unprofessional" during that time.

The two would go on to joke about Nakamura potentially shooting on Lesnar in a rematch, with Nakamura saying he's too old to do that now. While Nakamura does have a handful of MMA fights under his belt, Lesnar is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion.

Lesnar was scheduled to defend the IWGP Heavyweight Title against Hiroshi Tanahashi in July 2006, but the bout never came to fruition. You can find Tanahashi's full comments on the situation by clicking here.

Elsewhere during the interview, Nakamura explained how he's still struggling in wrestling. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
