The first Japanese NXT Champion has been crowned.
Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Samoe Joe to become NXT Champion at NXT Takeover: Back to Brooklyn. Nakamura became the ninth champion in the title's history after beating Joe with his finisher, the Kinshasa.
The former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Nakamura halted Joe's 121 day reign, and remains undefeated since coming to NXT. Joe's reign was the second shortest in NXT history.

Joe goes for the Coquina Clutch, but Shinsuke rolls him over, Joe locks in the Coquina Clutch on the ground, but Shinsuke gets to the bottom rope. Joe sets Nakamura up for the Muscle Buster, but Shinsuke counters, hitting an amazing german suplex. Shinsuke goes for the Kinshasa, but Joe counters into a powerslam for a very close 2 count. Joe goes for the Muscle Buster again, but Shinsuke somehow kicks out; what a match! Joe goes for another, but Shinsuke counters then Joe kicks out of the Kinshasa which has never been done before. Shinsuke hits a knee to the back of the neck then hits another Kinshasa for the pin and the win. Shinsuke Nakamura is NXT champion!
