Shinya Aoki Reveals His Contract With ONE Championship MMA Expired

Shinya Aoki is looking to continue competing in MMA.

Veteran wrestler and MMA fighter Shinya Aoki spoke to reporters (via Tokyo Sports) and revealed that his contract with ONE Championship MMA has expired. He said he officially became a free agent in May.

Aoki shared that he has not heard from anyone at ONE and added that he has not received any other offers for MMA bouts.

“Looking back, we’ve walked together for 13 years. Not a single thank you came from ONE. Why?” Aoki added, “What’s saddest of all is that, despite this situation, I haven’t received any offers (for MMA fights) from anywhere. Free agent might sound good, but basically, I’m unemployed.”

Aoki has been fighting professionally since 2003. He has an MMA record of 49-12. His last fight was for ONE in November 2025, where he lost to Hiroyuki Tetsuka via TKO in the second round.

Aoki has been in pro wrestling since 2013. He’s been with DDT since 2018. He’s also wrestled for GLEAT, GCW, and FMW-E.
