SHO Says He Can Envision His Retirement Match Being Against Tag Team Partner YOH

Former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion SHO has one particular match in mind that he wants more than anything and that is against his own tag team partner YOH.

In talking with NJPW, SHO talked about his tag team partner YOH and mentioned how much he wanted to wrestle him. SHO mentioned that a match with YOH is the one he wanted to have the most. The two have been participating in a few singles tournaments in the past, but have never faced each other after the two of them were Young Lions back in the day.

"I think the guy I want to fight the most right now is the guy I’m teaming with. We wrestled so much as Young Lions and never since. We grew a lot in those matches, but since we came back we’ve never faced off," SHO said.

SHO would go on to discuss why he thinks he can have a match with YOH unlike anyone else and even said he thinks his retirement match will be against YOH.

"Right. I think I can have a kind of match with YOH that I couldn’t have with anyone else. We’ve been tied together all this time, it really is a special connection that we have. I think he’d probably be my opponent in my retirement match. And vice versa for that matter," SHO said.

The two recently competed in the New Japan Cup and SHO will wrestle Shingo Takagi for the NEVER Openweight title at the upcoming Dominion show later this month.
