Shotzi had about two weeks notice.
For the second straight year, Shotzi was tabbed to host NXT Halloween Havoc. The announcement was made on the October 10 episode of NXT, where Shotzi made a surprise appearance and did commentary.
Speaking to Graham GSM Matthews, Shotzi said she learned of her hosting duties the same day everyone else did.
"I actually found out that I was hosting this year when I showed up at NXT a couple of weeks ago. Kind of the same thing as last year. I already had some costumes lined up and I was set," she said.
When asked if she expects to host the show given her horror fandom, Shotzi said, "I hate to say it, but I do kind of expect it. I am kind of in a competition, a competition by myself, against Elvira because she is like my role model. She has been a part of three Halloween Havocs back when WCW had it, and I want to top her. I just need one more. One more, I'll be so happy."
Shotzi also hosted Halloween Havoc in 2020 and 2022. She is hosting NXT Halloween Havoc 2023 alongside Scarlett, with whom she does a paranormal show with.
