Sidney Akeem (Reggie) Says He’s Close To Signing An AEW/ROH Deal

Sidney Akeem says he’s working on securing an AEW/Ring of Honor contract.
Best known for his WWE stint as Reggie, Sidney Akeem has been working on the independent scene since leaving the company back in 2024.
He was recently interviewed on Rewind Recap Relive, where the wrestler revealed he’s currently in the middle of getting a deal done with AEW/Ring of Honor.
“You know what’s wild? Because I always talk about… I’m a motivational speaker as well. I tell kids that I start my speech off by saying, ‘I never thought that I’d be here. I never envisioned or imagined the life that I’m living.’ It’s true because of where I come from. As a kid from St. Louis, my options as an adult were very limited. Now, to think that I made it to the mountaintop in the circus world. I made it to WWE. I wrestled for TNA, and now I am in the midst of getting a deal done with AEW/Ring of Honor.
I’m just like, what is this world? What is this life that I’m living? It felt so great. It felt so great to not only debut on Ring of Honor, because I’ve done that years ago, but to put something that was so close and personal so late on Ring of Honor, then to see the reception that it got… It’s better than my WWE debut. Because when you pour so much of your heart into something, you get to showcase that, and you see people, ‘Oh, that is damn good.’ That feels so good.”
Akeem has previously worked for Ring of Honor, with his debut taking place in 2024. Most recently, he teamed with Gringo Loco against Top Flight (Dante Martin and Darius Martin) in the promotion.
Elsewhere in the interview, Akeem discussed his Scrypts gimmick. Fans can read his comments here.
