Simon Gotch Explains Why He Thinks Tom Lawlor Is A "Tremendously Underrated" Wrestler

Simon Gotch gives props to Tom Lawlor.

Major League Wrestling is a home to many stars in the professional wrestling business and is also a home to those looking to establish themselves as top talents as well. The likes of Barrington Hughes, Ace Romero, Myron Reed, Ricky Martinez and "Filthy" Tom Lawlor among others are building their names competing on the independent scene and in MLW.

TNA Airs 'Lights Out' Teaser For TNA Rebellion

The 10-7-1 MMA fighter Tom "Filthy" Lawlor last competed in the octagon on November 24th at 'Golden Boy MMA''s show where he fell in defeat to Deron Winn. Lawlor is still active in the octagon to a degree but has been focused on his professional wrestling career over the past few years and another in-ring performer who has taken notice of that is former NXT Tag Team Champion Simon Gotch. Gotch, who has squared off against Lawlor in MLW sat down with Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald and explained why he thinks Tom Lawlor is a tremendously underrated wrestler.

“I think because, Tom was still with UFC for quite a while into his more recent pro wrestling run where as Matt Riddle had already been removed from the UFC and I think Riddle had so much more publicity because of that, and, as he said he’s like the only guy to get fired on a four-five win streak." Gotch said. "So I think Riddle had a little bit more attention because of that, but a lot of people don’t realize how good Tom is and he’s had some great matches with WALTER, last year… actually, Matt Riddle’s Bloodsport event that was put on by GCW, as well as AIW in Ohio. He’s had some great matches here obviously against guys like Shane Strickland, Sami Callihan, Low Ki actually coming up in a few months. I mean really, Tom is a tremendously underrated talent [and] I’m glad people are finally starting to wake up and realize that he’s as good as he is.”

Both Tom Lawlor and Simon Gotch can be seen on MLW 'Fusion' on Friday nights and on the MLW YouTube channel that has the latest episodes of 'Fusion' uploaded the following Saturday.
