Skye Blue Says She Gets ‘Excited Like A Little Kid On Christmas’ For Hardcore Wrestling Matches

Skye Blue discusses competing in hardcore wrestling matches, noting that she gets ‘excited like a little kid on Christmas for them.’

Skye is no stranger to stipulation matches in professional wrestling, having competed in no DQ matches, street fights and most notably, the first ever women’s Blood and Guts match.

While speaking to Close-Up with Renee Paquette, Skye Blue spoke about hardcore matches, noting that she gets ‘excited like a little kid on Christmas’ for them.

“I feel like a lot of people view hardcore matches as cop outs. Like, ‘oh, if you can’t make it in a real match, this is what you resort to.’ But I don’t think of that at all. I think it’s a different art form because there’s more suspense. There’s, ‘oh, you have to set this up. What are they gonna do with that? Who’s gonna go through it? What’s gonna happen?’ It’s a different type of roller coaster or a different type of adrenaline. It’s not for everybody and that’s totally fine. But for who it is for, I think you just get a thrill and you get the butterflies, and you get excited like a little kid on Christmas. That’s how I feel in those matches.”
