Last night at the Raw taping at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, it was announced that the arena would host a WWE PPV later this year.
Battleground, a SmackDown PPV, will take place on July 23rd, 2017, two weeks after the recently announced Bad Blood Raw PPV in the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut.
Battleground of 2016 was the first WWE PPV that Fightful ever covered, so that marks an anniversary of sorts for our site.
Oddly enough, The Royal Rumble of 2018 will also take place in the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on January 28 of that year.
