The new SmackDown Tag Team Champions will defend their new titles this week on SmackDown.

WWE announced that The Street Profits will defend their belts against Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode on the October 16 episode of SmackDown, which is the show's season premiere. The Street Profits were previously the Raw Tag Team Champions but once they were drafted to SmackDown, they switched titles with The New Day, who were drafted to Raw.

From WWE:

The Street Profits are bringing ALL THE SMOKE to Friday nights and wasting no time in defending their title.

Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins will take on Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode in a SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match on the FOX season premiere. The challengers fell short in their bid to take the Raw Tag Team Titles from The New Day in their red-brand finale. The Street Profits put together an impressive run as the Raw Tag Team Champions and swapped titles with The New Day before heading to SmackDown.

Will Ford & Dawkins be raising red solo cups to toast their blue-brand debut? Or will Ziggler & Roode spoil the party with a victory?

Don’t miss the championship clash on Friday Night SmackDown at 8/7 C on FOX.

WWE also announced that Daniel Bryan will make his ThunderDome debut on Friday's SmackDown.

Previously announced for SmackDown is a Universal Championship match between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman as well as the New Day having their farewell against Sheamus, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura. Lastly, Lars Sullivan will face Jeff Hardy in singles action.

Fightful will have live coverage of SmackDown.
