SmackDown Viewership Climbs For Nakamura vs Orton On 9/5

This past Tuesday's episode of SmackDown Live, featuring an advertised main event #1 Contender's Match between Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura to determine who will face to WWE Champion Jinder Mahal at Hell in a Cell, drew 2.582 million viewers, according to ShowBuzz Daily. This is up 5% over the 2.455 million viewers that watched last week's episode.

SmackDown was #5 in total viewership on cable for the night, behind American Horror Story, The Haves & Have Nots, Rachel Maddow and Hannity. SmackDown did manage to secure the #2 spot in the 18-49 demographic, behind only American Horror Story on FX.

As a point of reference, this week's Labor Day edition of Monday Night RAW drew 2.932 million viewers, which is 12% more than SmackDown.
