SmackDown Women's Championship Match Set For WWE SummerSlam 2021

The SmackDown Women's Championship will be on the line at SummerSlam.

At WrestleMania 37, Bianca Belair defeated Sasha Banks to capture the SmackDown Women's Championship. After nearly four months away, Banks returned to WWE television last week, teaming with Belair in a tag team match against Carmella and Zelina Vega. After their victory, however, The Boss turned on Belair, hitting her with a backstabber and Banks statement to end the show.

On August 6, Banks opened SmackDown and said that she is back to reclaim the spotlight that she created. Sasha claims to have turned Belair from a rookie to a champion and doesn't appreciate the lack of gratitude for all the accolades and fame she has brought to The EST of WWE.

Belair responded to Banks with confidence, challenging her to a title match at SummerSlam on Saturday, August 21. Before that match can be made official, she must successfully retain her belt tonight in a match against Zelina Vega.
