Sneak Peek At The NXT Great American Bash Set, Adam Cole Doesn't Follow A Formula | Fight Size

Here's your fight size update for Tuesday, July 6, 2021:

- Ahead of tonight's Great American Bash, NXT revealed a first look at the stage for tonight's event.

- Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Adam Cole explains why he doesn't follow a formula in NXT and names his favorite match with Kyle O'Reilly.

“The role I was in for so long was defending or chasing the NXT Championship, and this is different. There is personal animosity involved here, so this story with Kyle O’Reilly is very specific. And there is so much history, as well as so much history we haven’t even detailed. It’s a never-ending battle. I don’t necessarily have a formula that I like to follow. For me, I base how I speak, what I say and how I wrestle based on who I’m in there with, which keeps things fresh for me.”

Regarding his favorite match with Kyle, Adam said the following:

“I’m going to go with Final Battle when Kyle finally became the ROH Champion. But it’s so tough. Wrestling at Wrestle Kingdom in the Tokyo Dome, what a moment, and there was no one else I’d rather step into the ring with in that situation. At Stand & Deliver, that was us getting to main-event an NXT show, which was also pretty special.”

- Last night before Monday Night Raw, Karrion Kross vs. Drew Gulak was held but the match will not be shown on this week's episode of Main Event. There was also a Tegan Nox match that was filmed. Below are the two announced matchups for this week's episode:

* Veer vs. Jeff Hardy
* Angel Garza vs. Shelton Benjamin.

- Speaking with Sportskeeda, Tommaso Ciampa shouted out Ever-Rise as being the funniest members of the NXT locker room. They were released on June 25.

"I hope I don't upset anyone when I say this...because I know that they're not with the NXT locker room anymore, but Ever-Rise (Scott Parker and Shane Matthews) was the best," said Ciampa. "I already miss them. The best!"

- WWE superstar Dana Brooke is officially engaged to boxer Ulysses Diaz.

- Tommy Dreamer recently spoke to Terry Funk. Terry has recently been battling health issues.

- On Twitter, Lance Storm revealed a planned name for a stable he had with Chris Jericho, Christian, and Test. That group would eventually become the UnAmericans and never included Chris Jericho.

- Speaking on a YouTube Q&A, JBL noted that he has considered a run for politics but will only run if he feels like he can make any difference in a community that matters to him. He has no desire to run just for the sake of holding political office.

- David Starr posted the following regarding his Speaking Out allegations last year.

- Former NXT referee Drake Wuertz recently told PWP Nation that he is looking to start a podcast. (h/t: WrestleZone)

“I’m going to be jumping into the podcast realm as well. Hopefully towards the end of the summer, beginning of the fall, I’m going to talk some wrestling, I’m going to talk faith, I’m going to talk about family, politics. We’re going to bring it all together.”
