SoFi Stadium, Site Of WrestleMania 37, Announces Delay In Opening

SoFi Stadium, the home of WrestleMania 37 in Inglewood, California, announced its opening will be delayed. The new stadium was originally scheduled to open in July with Taylor Swift's Lover Fest on July 25 and 26 but the two-day concert event has been postponed until 2021.

It was reported on April 15 that construction on SoFi Stadium has continued amid the coronavirus pandemic, though the work schedule has been altered.

It is unknown when SoFi Stadium will officially open. Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti indicated in a conference call on April 15 that “large gatherings such as concerts and sporting events may not be approved in the city for at least 1 year."

The stadium is set to be the home of the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers along with hosting other sports and entertainment events.

WrestleMania 37 is still scheduled to take place on March 28, 2021. It is unknown at this time if WrestleMania 37 will be affected by the delayed opening. Large gatherings are still prohibited across the country and sports are either suspended or running with no live audience.

Fightful will continue to monitor the situation.
