Sol Ruca Feels Character Work Has Been Most Challenging Aspect Of Her Transition From NXT To Main Roster

Sol Ruca has been a part of the WWE main roster since April 2026. Three months in, she has had a run as the Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

While guest appearing on Busted Open, she was asked what has been the most challenging aspect of the transition from NXT to the main roster, and Ruca said character work.

“I definitely think just character work. I feel like being an athlete, I was so used to just being serious and you get told what to do, told what to wear, told how to act whereas here, it’s kind of up to you, and within NXT, it’s kind of easier to bounce ideas off of people and try new things because the risk isn’t as high whereas on the main roster, we have so many more eyes on us that we kind of, at least for me, I have to have everything figured out which honestly isn’t the case but, it does just feel a little bit more stressful knowing that there is so much more at stake being on the main roster but I definitely think character work and I think just being a little bit more loose and a little bit more bubbly and just having more fun instead of being like, ‘I have to do everything perfect.’ So I think that is definitely something that I’ve struggled with…”

Ruca’s reign as Women’s Intercontinental Champion ended at 57 days after she was defeated by Raquel Rodriguez, who had assistance from Judgment Day.
